Window is a dual-platform contemporary art and project space which showcases experimental works onsite and online.

Hosting shows that are both internally curated and generated by our collaborators, Window aims to support and showcase a diverse range of ambitious and engaging projects between its two platforms and through other outputs and events.

As the first dedicated online exhibition space in the country, Window online gives space to online projects that would otherwise be unviable or go unseen. The onsite space, located in the foyer of The University of Auckland’s General Library foyer, is seen by thousands of people every week. Window has launched the careers of many students as artists, curators and writers. Projects premiered at Window have gone on to be shown at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery and Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts.

Through a series of three workshops facilitated by Felixe Laing, Jingcheng Zhao, and Liam Jacobson, we will explore provocations that sit at the point of encounter between artist and curator, across institutional, collective, and self-driven initiatives.

Together, the workshops offer tangible knowledge, skills, and methods for emerging and early-career curators to contextualise and action their learnings within their own practice.
